The Story

   

So here I am, I finally decided to start a blog about my travels! I started traveling independently by the turn of the millennium and never stopped since, during that time I visited 325 cities in 54 countries spanned across 5 continents. At the time, and till lately, it was not my intention to create a blog based on my travels as I did travel out of passion, but I guess as Ibn Battouta, the most famous traveler in history, once said:

        “traveling, it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

As I travel independently, this blog is intended towards like-minded independent, adventure, and budget travelers who aspire to explore the world on their own, venture off-the-beaten-path, and are willing to get out of their comfort zone to discover the sheer beauties of the stunning planet we live in. For me, adventure traveling doesn’t only include trips where you do some kind of extreme sports or strenuous physical activity, any trip venturing into an unknown land to you ON YOUR OWN, is an adventure trip & I’ll show you how. For this reason, you’ll find blog posts for extreme places in the middle of nowhere as well as the most visited cities in the world; and all these blogs will share the same concept… “On your own”. This blog will not tell stories or review places; however, it is aimed at providing ideas and suggestions about how to explore different destinations, yet leave room for the true spirit of independent travelling. In this blog, you will find tips of how to visit the world’s most spectacular and inspirational destinations independently, without a guide or a guidebook, and on budget; yet to maintain the spirit of independent travelling and preserve the joy of discovery, I will not give all the details of how to plan the trip, but, rest assured, every trip in this blog can be completely done independently with some hard work and research. For the same reason, you’ll find throughout the blog posts links to request these details in case you are short on time or for some reason you could not find the necessary information required for your trip; including: maps, transportation, routes, accommodation…etc. through these links, you will be able to contact me and I will help you with your requests personally, as I intend to make this blog an interactive platform for me to share my trips, experiences, and recommendations with my fellow travelers from around the world.

The pictures you’ll find in this blog are all taken by myself with my ordinary or phone camera, not a fancy couple of thousand dollars one. These pictures are pictures that can be taken by any ordinary traveler like me; and unlike the pictures you see in most travel blogs, you don’t have to wait for days to take a perfect shot or from impossible angles that, unless you are a professional photographer, you won’t be able to take…at the end no camera on earth can capture what the human eye can.
